Membership FAQs
How do I become a member of Tamworth Co-op?
Joining is simple and if you join us digitally, you’ll receive your reward card instantly. You can sign up in-store or online by providing basic contact details and paying a one-off membership share of just £1. Once you are a member, you can start accessing offers, and participating in the democratic decisions of the Society.
Is your existing membership changing?
Our existing rewards scheme is being relaunched as Everyday Membership, as we strive to offer more to our valued customers. The dividend we previously offered is being reduced from 2% to 1% to allow us to offer more instant savings across both our food and funeral businesses.
Is my existing member’s reward card still valid?
Yes! Your existing reward card is unaffected. However, you are able to get a digital version to store in your phone wallet if you prefer.
I’m struggling to sign up online. Can you help?
Yes, of course we can. Whilst we’re trying to make things more accessible for all, we do appreciate moving to a more digital way of life isn’t easy for everyone. That’s why you can still sign up in any of our food stores, or pop into reception at Head Office in Coleshill, Tamworth. Your reward card will be processed manually and be dispatched within 7-10 working days.
What if i’ve lost my member’s reward card?
Don’t worry – we know these things sometimes happen! This is one of the reasons we’ve introduced digital reward cards as they can be easily replaced. If you’ve lost your card please complete our Contact Us form and a member of our team will be in touch with you.
Why do I have different Co-op membership cards?
Ok bear with us as this can be tricky to explain! We are an independently owned Society, owned by our members. Our Board of Directors, along with our members, help to run our business and by joining our membership programme you are not only getting access to instant savings and benefits, you’re also a shareholder. As we are independent we don’t have access to the same rewards as Co-op Group, and as such we have our own rewards programme. This is the same for other independent societies who operate similarly within our trading area. Whilst our product names may be very similar, the look and feel of our businesses can be quite different (despite us all being a co-operative). In our food stores this means instant savings on everyday essentials, branded promotions on products you love, and better value across our Co-op own label range. In our funeral homes, this means savings when you need them as well as planning for your future.
